Everything You Need to Know
Answers to the most common questions about how we work, what we build, and how to get started with Brihat Infotech.
General
We are headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Our team works remotely across India and we serve clients in India, the US, UK, and the Middle East.
Yes. We work with clients across India, the US, UK, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. We accommodate overlapping time zones and communicate asynchronously when needed.
The fastest way is to book a 30-minute discovery call or fill out our contact form. We respond within 24 hours on business days. The first call is a no-obligation conversation about your project — no sales pressure.
Yes. We sign NDAs before any project discussion where you share confidential information. Standard NDA is sent within 24 hours of your request.
Freelancers deliver code. We deliver systems. Every engagement includes architecture planning, code reviews, security testing, documentation, and post-launch support. You get a team accountable for outcomes — not just task completion.
You do. 100%. All code is written in repositories that you own from day one. We never retain any ownership or license over work we build for you.
Yes. We regularly inherit existing codebases. We do a code audit during discovery to understand quality, architecture, and technical debt before committing to scope and timelines.
We read every submission personally. You will receive an acknowledgment email within a few hours and a substantive reply within 24 hours on business days. If your project fits our scope, we will suggest a 30-minute discovery call.
Yes, completely free and no-obligation. It is a conversation, not a sales pitch. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you honestly and point you toward alternatives.
Yes, with 30-day notice. If you started on Time and Material and want to move to a Dedicated Team model, we can restructure the engagement with a new agreement.
You manage the day-to-day work — tasks, priorities, sprints. We manage the employment — payroll, HR, performance reviews, and career development. You get the output of a team member without the HR overhead.
Yes. We have a standard buyout arrangement. If you want to hire a Brihat engineer full-time after 12 months of engagement, we charge a placement fee equivalent to 3 months of their retainer rate. This is transparent and in the contract from day one.
We hire primarily for engineers with 3+ years of relevant experience. We occasionally take exceptional freshers for specific roles but our work requires people who can own technical decisions independently from day one.
Most engineering roles are remote-first. We have optional office space in Ahmedabad. Some client-facing roles may require occasional travel for discovery sessions or milestone reviews.
Process
Most projects run 8–20 weeks depending on scope. We start with a 1–2 week discovery phase before writing a single line of code. You will have a detailed timeline with milestones before we begin.
Every project includes 30 days of free post-launch support. After that, we offer retainer options for ongoing maintenance, feature development, and monitoring. We do not disappear after go-live.
We use a formal change request process. If you want something outside the agreed scope, we document it, estimate the impact on timeline and cost, and you approve before we proceed. No hidden surprises on the invoice.
Yes. 30 days is included in every project. After that, we offer three retainer tiers — bug fixes only, bug fixes plus minor enhancements, and full ongoing development. We present these options at the end of every project.
Just have a rough idea of what you are trying to build, who will use it, and what your timeline and budget range are. We guide the conversation — you do not need a formal spec document.
That is fine. Many of our best projects started with a vague idea. The discovery process is specifically designed to help you clarify requirements. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
No. We need one internal point of contact who can respond to questions within 48 hours and review sprint demos once a week. Beyond that, you run your business and we run the engineering.
Critical bugs (system down, data loss risk) are fixed within 24 hours during the 30-day support period. Major bugs within 72 hours. Minor bugs in the next sprint. After 30 days, response times depend on the retainer tier.
No. Tech stack is decided and agreed upon during the architecture phase. Changing the stack mid-project would require starting over. This is why we spend time on architecture before writing code.
During discovery: access to relevant stakeholders and any existing system documentation. During development: credentials for staging environments and any third-party APIs you use. At deployment: domain access and cloud account credentials.
We have a 2-week replacement guarantee for any reason. If the fit is not right technically or culturally, tell us within the first 2 weeks and we replace at no additional cost. After 2 weeks, replacement requires 2 weeks notice.
30-day written notice is required to end or pause a dedicated team engagement after the minimum 3-month period. This gives both sides time to wrap up properly and hand over cleanly.
Our hiring process takes 1–2 weeks from application to offer. We do not believe in endless interview rounds. Application review (5 days) → technical screen (3 days to complete) → team call (45 minutes) → offer within 48 hours if it is a fit.
Pricing
Our minimum engagement is ₹5 Lakh for fixed-price projects and 3 months for dedicated team engagements. We are transparent about this upfront.
For fixed-price projects: 40% upfront, 30% at project midpoint, 30% on delivery. For time and material: monthly invoicing with 15-day payment terms. For dedicated teams: monthly retainer billed at the start of each month.
Our minimum engagement is ₹5 Lakh and 6–8 weeks. We are not the right fit for landing pages, simple websites, or projects that need to be done in under 2 weeks. For those we can recommend alternatives.
Our rates reflect the quality and seniority of our engineering team. We do not negotiate on rates but we can adjust scope to fit your budget. We would rather do less work excellently than more work poorly.
We invoice in INR for Indian clients and USD for international clients. We accept bank transfers, wire transfers, Wise, and Razorpay. For international clients, we can also accept PayPal for smaller amounts.
Never. Every invoice is itemized. If a third-party service, API, or cloud cost is part of your project, we discuss it upfront and you pay the vendor directly. We do not mark up third-party costs.
Not currently for engineering roles. We offer competitive cash compensation with a performance bonus on successful project delivery. Equity discussions are possible for leadership-level hires.
