Edmertion's founders identified a fundamental access inequality in academic and career counseling in India — quality counseling was available primarily in metro cities through expensive private consultants, while students in Tier 2, 3, and rural areas made stream and college selection decisions with almost no professional guidance.
Schools had no structured way to capture and analyze student aptitude data over time. The counseling sessions that did happen were generic — not personalized to individual learning styles, strengths, or career market realities. Students who chose the wrong stream or college had no recourse, and the downstream impact on employability and career satisfaction was significant.
How We Solved It
Brihat Infotech built Edmertion as a scalable AI-driven academic and career counseling platform. The AI Aptitude Engine administered multi-dimensional assessments covering logical reasoning, verbal ability, spatial awareness, emotional intelligence, and domain interest — generating a personalized learner profile with career alignment scores across 200+ occupational categories. A Career Pathway Mapper showed students their compatibility with different academic streams and career trajectories, with realistic information about college requirements, job market demand, salary ranges, and growth paths. Live Mentoring connected students with a network of verified academic counselors for on-demand video sessions — bringing metro-quality guidance to any geography. A Goal Tracking Module allowed students to set academic and career goals, track milestones, and receive AI-generated study and activity recommendations aligned to their objectives. Schools and parents received institutional dashboards showing cohort-level aptitude distribution, career interest clusters, and at-risk students who showed signs of misalignment between current performance and selected streams.
